PROJECT VALOUR IT
Attention Marines, lovers of Marines, and
those who wish they were Marines!
Project Valour IT Marine needs your help to defend the honor of the Corps against Army, Navy, and the Air Force! Every year the services engage in a little good natured, inter service competition to see who can raise the most money for wounded vets. In 2006 Team Marine outraised the other services but was beaten to the Finish Line by Team Navy. We have never won. This year, the Marine team has held onto first place but we need your help to sprint to victory!
WHO WE ARE: Valour IT provides adaptive technology to help severely wounded vets recover faster, establish a support system, and regain their independence. Since 1995, every single dollar raised by Valour IT has been used to provide:
- 4,100+ voice activated laptops
- over 30 Wii systems
- and nearly 100 handheld GPS devices to wounded vets at:
Balboa Naval Hospital | Naval Hospital, Camp Pendleton
Brooke Army Medical Center | Robert E. Bush Naval Hospital
Madigan RMC | Walter Reed AMC
| National Naval MC (Bethesda) |
Voice activated laptops connect patients with still-deployed fellow service members and loved ones who can’t be at their bedside. They run therapeutic computer programs that support restored brain/vision function, research treatments, keep track of treatment regimens and help vets retrain for post-military employment. Voice control makes using a computer one of the first things severely wounded vets can do on their own.
Wii total fitness systems donated to physical therapists in VA hospitals and major medical centers key into patients’ natural competitive nature and allow therapists to track their progress in a fun way.
GPS systems are invaluable for those with severe PTSD or TBI. They foster self reliance and a sense of competence. For those with short-term memory problems, a GPS can mean the difference between independence and frustration or even failure.
Please help us help wounded vets and beat Army, Navy, and the Air Force!

“It was the first time I felt whole since I’d woken up wounded in Landstuhl.”
–Major Charles "Chuck" Ziegenfuss, on using a voice-controlled laptop
