The Navy Wants the USMC Riverines Back

The Navy, in its infinite wisdom, wants the Marine's riverine operations back. Navy sailors are now in training to learn, not only the intricacies of maneuvering jet pump propelled boats but the art of being a Marine grunt with an eye to ambush tactics, call for fire and other actions which become as common as breathing to a Marine and absolutely vital to the mission. Five years into the war and the Navy now wants the riverine's ball? The Marines are now in motion to send their last unit of riverines to Iraq. They have, at the same time, been training their future replacements. The Navy, in its infinite wisdom, does not have formal schools or experienced sailors in riverine operations. Marine instructors trained the Navy riverines. Marines trained the sailors to take over their job of Iraqi dam security and thugmite free water ways. I hope the Navy, in its infinite wisdom, hasn't pulled the stiff one eye on their new riverines. Fresh from boring shifts and dusty four walls the new Navy riverines did not exactly enlist to hump hills and set ambush sites. Compared to the Marines they are replacing what kind of training scores are these new Navy Riverines making? Compare and contrast.
