Broken Arrow Alert--Calling All Marines.......

http://members.aol.com/Salem83/usmc.jpgCalling All Marines!

We need YOU to help the Marine team support wounded combat veterans and defend the honor of our Corps. Until November 11th military bloggers and radio personalities are joining forces to raise money for Project Valour IT, which provides voice activated software and laptops to severely wounded vets.

It's hard to imagine what life would be like if you suddenly lost the use of your eyes, your hands, or God forbid both arms. We take so many things for granted: the ability to get up and walk outside our homes, to call friends, to get in the car and go where we please. To look someone squarely in the eye and not have them look away because they are uncomfortable at the sight of our injuries, earned honorably in the defense of this nation.

Sacrifice is not abstract at all to our wounded vets. It is something they live with daily. They cannot escape it. But for many of us it is an abstract idea we dust off on holidays, something that perhaps brings a tear to our eyes when the flag goes past in a parade, but has little meaning in real life. For most Americans, sacrifice is not a living idea, a shared burden. But it could be. It ought to be.

Through Project Valour IT our wounded heroes are able to send and receive messages from friends and loved ones, surf the 'Net, and communicate with buddies still in the field without having to press a key or move a mouse. We can reconnect them to the world before they even leave their hospital beds, remind them that their sacrifices are honored and appreciated by a grateful nation.

But best of all, this friendly inter-service competition offers one more chance to show the Army, Navy and Air Force that the United States Marine Corps takes care of our own and has ALWAYS been America’s 9/11 force. Don’t let the bad guys win! Open your hearts and your wallets. Tell friends and family. Dig deep and donate MARINE today!

As the smallest service team, we can’t win without YOUR help!
