Sgt. Hector Perez 3rd LAR

Sgt. Hector Perez, 30, from Hawthorne, Calif., and his wife, Breanna, are learning to cope with injuries he sustained while deployed to Afghanistan in 2011. Perez,  is now with Wounded Warrior Battalion West and was  with the 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion riding in the lead vehicle on a route-clearing convoy when they struck an improvised explosive device.
