Alpha Co. Troop Lift with Ca.Air Guard

Alpha Company does troop lift with California Air National Guard.
The October drill found the Bn air shop out supporting Alpha company for a troop lift and ride around Camp Pendleton before being inserted into the HLZ pad for follow on patrolling operations. Six H-60 Blackhawks from  BCO 1-140th CaANG, were in zone to support this lift on a beautiful sunny southern California day.  Also, to the surprise of all the Marines, the owner of Ramones Mexican Restaurants was also in zone to serve lunch - 4 different types of burritos, to all the airmen and Marines.  Mr. Gomez, owner of the restaurant, is the father of the platoon commander BCO, 1LT John Gomez, who was the flight leader for the day’s operation.
