Lance Cpl. Justin D. Reppuhn, 20, died in an explosion Thursday while fighting into the insurgent stronghold of Fallujah, Iraq. He had served just eight weeks overseas. A poem, written by his mother, is framed on the counter. Prophetically, it reads, "My son knows what the cost is and is willing to challenge it with courage, honor and loyalty. His gift to us, the possibility of the ultimate sacrifice." "I brought them up being extremely patriotic," his mother said. "We told them that in life, if it comes that you must pass away, the most honorable thing in the whole world (is giving your life for your country."
We extend our deepest sympathies to his family, his friends and his mates.
