"Major Ladd Shepard received the Bronze Star Medal for his recent outstanding service and leadership in Iraq. He was awarded the prestigious medal during a ceremony held last Friday at Camp Lejeune. Shepard is credited with helping to reduce by 50 percent the number of roadside bombs according to military officials during Operation Iraqi Freedom in which he served as the Operations Officer for 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion."Two LAR and Iraqi Security Forces kicked thug butt hiding out in an area of 10,000 square miles in western Iraq bordering our friends the Saudi's, the Syrians and the Jordanians. Maj. Shepard, a hard core go-getter, also completed tours in Iraq in 2003 and 2004.
