"Mum and Dad, Roxane and Rudiger von Kraus congratulate son, Capt. Brian R. von Kraus after he was awarded the Silver Star Medal Feb. 8. Captain Von Kraus earned the Silver Star for his heroic actions on July 25, 2004 in which he dismounted his vehicle and entered the kill zone of a three-sided ambush by 20 thug terrorist to lead three separate assaults on several enemy strong points, personally destroying thugs with rifle fire and grenades.
