Florida Mosque Host Fundraiser for Hamas

BIG PEACE:"Imam Muhammad Musri, (BFF Charlie Crist) hosted a fundraiser in Orlando for the terrorist group Hamas in June 2009, and a camera crew from ACT for America infiltrated the event held at Masjid Al-Rahman, Musri’s mosque, to record the proceedings. Imam Musri, head of the Islamic Society of Central Florida, serves on Crist’s Faith-Based and Community Advisory Council and was appointed by Crist to his 2010 Sunshine Census Committee."

"As the video taken by ACT for America shows, Galloway and Bray raised $55,000 at Musri’s fundraiser. During the event, Bray promised that the cash and materials collected from the Orlando event would be sent straight to Gaza":

"Well we’ve got the equipment. We’re going to send it Insha’Allah. We’re going to go with your movement Viva Palestina… We’ll ship it here from Florida to New York, and from New York to Egypt, and from Egypt we will put it into Gaza."

America. What a wonderful country! Freedom of Religion for everyone. Even for fundraisers. Cash for terrorist. Forget cash for clunkers. Good thing the FBI is on the case.

You Might be Islamophobic if....

Lately, our left wing ruling elites have been name calling Americans against the Mosque At Ground Zero as nothing but low down Islamophobic bigots against the Religion of Peace. Pew Research says Americans remain conflicted Over Islam. Our effort to bridge this obvious misunderstanding is to review these clips taken from Saudi textbooks given to their youngsters for their education. Number One in the education of a Muslim child is to gain a deep sense of purpose and understanding of the Islamic Mission Statement. These questions and statements are gleaned from textbooks that the Saudi government, one of our good friends in the Middle East, reissued, after a good scrubbing with lots of soap and hot water, after the horrific events of 9/11. I borrowed the list from Nina Shea who is director of the Center for Religious Freedom at Freedom House. If, after reading and careful thought, you find still find yourself disagreeing with any of these statements or questions, well, pardner, you just might be Islamophobic. It's a good thing.

FIRST GRADE
" Every religion other than Islam is false." "Fill in the blanks with the appropriate words (Islam, hellfire): Every religion other than ______________ is false. Whoever dies outside of Islam enters ____________."

FOURTH GRADE
"True belief means . . . that you hate the polytheists and infidels but do not treat them unjustly."

FIFTH GRADE
"Whoever obeys the Prophet and accepts the oneness of God cannot maintain a loyal friendship with those who oppose God and His Prophet, even if they are his closest relatives." "It is forbidden for a Muslim to be a loyal friend to someone who does not believe in God and His Prophet, or someone who fights the religion of Islam." "A Muslim, even if he lives far away, is your brother in religion. Someone who opposes God, even if he is your brother by family tie, is your enemy in religion."

SIXTH GRADE
"Just as Muslims were successful in the past when they came together in a sincere endeavor to evict the Christian crusaders from Palestine, so will the Arabs and Muslims emerge victorious, God willing, against the Jews and their allies if they stand together and fight a true jihad for God, for this is within God's power."

EIGHTH GRADE
"As cited in Ibn Abbas: The apes are Jews, the people of the Sabbath; while the swine are the Christians, the infidels of the communion of Jesus." "God told His Prophet, Muhammad, about the Jews, who learned from parts of God's book [the Torah and the Gospels] that God alone is worthy of worship. Despite this, they espouse falsehood through idol-worship, soothsaying, and sorcery. In doing so, they obey the devil. They prefer the people of falsehood to the people of the truth out of envy and hostility. This earns them condemnation and is a warning to us not to do as they did." "They are the Jews, whom God has cursed and with whom He is so angry that He will never again be satisfied [with them]." "Some of the people of the Sabbath were punished by being turned into apes and swine. Some of them were made to worship the devil, and not God, through consecration, sacrifice, prayer, appeals for help, and other types of worship. Some of the Jews worship the devil. Likewise, some members of this nation worship the devil, and not God." "Activity: The student writes a composition on the danger of imitating the infidels."

NINTH GRADE
"The clash between this [Muslim] community (umma) and the Jews and Christians has endured, and it will continue as long as God wills." "It is part of God's wisdom that the struggle between the Muslim and the Jews should continue until the hour [of judgment]." "Muslims will triumph because they are right. He who is right is always victorious, even if most people are against him."

TENTH GRADE
The 10th-grade text on jurisprudence teaches that life for non-Muslims (as well as women, and, by implication, slaves) is worth a fraction of that of a "free Muslim male." Blood money is retribution paid to the victim or the victim's heirs for murder or injury: "Blood money for a free infidel. [Its quantity] is half of the blood money for a male Muslim, whether or not he is 'of the book' or not 'of the book' (such as a pagan, Zoroastrian, etc.). "Blood money for a woman: Half of the blood money for a man, in accordance with his religion. The blood money for a Muslim woman is half of the blood money for a male Muslim, and the blood money for an infidel woman is half of the blood money for a male infidel."

ELEVENTH GRADE
"The greeting 'Peace be upon you' is specifically for believers. It cannot be said to others." "If one comes to a place where there is a mixture of Muslims and infidels, one should offer a greeting intended for the Muslims." "Do not yield to them [Christians and Jews] on a narrow road out of honor and respect."

TWELFTH GRADE
"Jihad in the path of God -- which consists of battling against unbelief, oppression, injustice, and those who perpetrate it -- is the summit of Islam. This religion arose through jihad and through jihad was its banner raised high. It is one of the noblest acts, which brings one closer to God, and one of the most magnificent acts of obedience to God."

War Pig Mechs-Hard Working Marines

08.26.2010
DVIDS PostedMechanics maintain mission capabilities

COMBAT OUTPOST PAYNE, Afghanistan – To accomplish their mission, light armored reconnaissance Marines need vehicles prepared for the task at hand. The Motor Transport Maintenance section makes sure the vehicles are ready to travel Afghanistan’s rugged terrain.

The 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion maintenance section is comprised of a radio communications section, an armor section and an optics section.

“Having all the different sections here in one shop makes it a lot easier and faster to fix a problem that requires one of these specialties,” said Master Sgt. Tuputala Paulo, the battalion maintenance quality control chief with Headquarters and Service Company, 1st LAR Bn.

Repairs for these vehicles are broken into several categories.

“We needed Marines with fourth echelon capabilities to be able to fix the engines of the LAVs,” said Paulo, an Oceanside, Calif., native.

To work at full capacity, the 1st Marine Logistics Group sent mechanics with advanced training on light armored vehicles engineering to 1st LAR Bn.
.
A vehicle in repair is checked in to every section for tests and marked off on a checklist when it’s determined operational.

“We can fix everything that can break in a light armored vehicle,” said Sgt. Bryan Watkins, a light armored vehicle repairman with H&S Company, 1st LAR Bn. “We make sure the vehicles can undergo the missions.”

Some of those missions take the vehicles far away from the maintenance shop. These Marines don’t just sit back and wait for the downed LAVs to come to them. They use recovery teams to assist the LAV crewmen in the field, while one crew remains at the shop.

“The first team works kind of like NASCAR. They’re a pit crew on stand-by at all times, in case there’s a problem with a light armored vehicle,” Paulo added.

That is where the recovery comes in.

“Our job with the recovery team is to go out and try to fix the vehicles out there, but if we can’t fix it where it broke down, then we tow it back and fix it here,” said Watkins a Harford County, Md., native. “We also go out if one of our companies takes part in a big operation.”

The Mechanics attached to the maintenance shop work up to 20-hour days fixing and maintaining LAVs.

“If you ask anyone here they can tell you that the maintenance Marines are the hardest working Marines in the battalion,” Watkins said.

NO. MOSQUE. AT. GROUND. ZERO.

Our Ruling Elite class has their nickers all in a twist this week as Time magazine cover asks: Is America Islamophobic?

You got to wonder what planet our Ruling Class Elite live on or if they even bother to read anything by members of the Mosque they are furiously trying to guilt trip us into supporting. You don't have to be the brightest light bulb in Hardware store to understand the Mission Statement of the Members of the religion of Islam. Since forever, Muslims have not been at all shy about their mission statement, written in the Koran,( though you wouldn't think so by our Ruling Class Elites) which is to make sure that Idolaters, which is us, unbelievers, and deniers of the faith, again all us and ditto are microbes to be eradicated like the filthy vermin that we are.

Even our founding fathers were treated to the warm vermin treatment: Thomas Jefferson and John Adams met with Abd al-Rahman in London to offer terms for a peace treaty with Tripoli and were counter offered, instead, with a demand for one million dollars and the "Why" Islamic credo:

" It was ...written in the Koran, that all Nations who should not have acknowledged their (the Muslims') authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon whoever they could find and make slaves of all they could take as prisoners, and that every Mussulman who should be slain in battle was sure to go to Paradise" .

Seems plain enough to me. Not much has changed since Tom Jefferson and John Adams hoisted a tankard. You may, however, appreciate something more recent. No problem. In 2006, Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Abdel Aziz al-Sheikh, defended the Muslims divine right to violence: “The spread of Islam has gone through several phases, secret and then public, in Mecca and Medina. God then authorised the faithful to defend themselves and to fight against those fighting them, which amounts to a right legitimised by God. This… is quite reasonable, and God will not hate it.”

Shoot, in the end, it all boils down to two choices, convert or surrender. Both are deal breakers from this side. The Ground Zero Mosque is another one.

Chef Gordon Ramsey Feeds The First LAR and Families

MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. — For 12 amateur cooks vying to be the first American Master Chef, the only thing more intimidating than Chef Gordon Ramsay breathing down their necks was staring at the 400 members of the 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion and their families.

Camp Pendleton’s Camp Del Mar’s beach was the location used for the filming of one of the recently aired episodes of the new TV show, "Master Chef." The reality show is a competition that pits amateur cooks against one another for a $250,000 prize, a cookbook deal and the title of Master Chef.

The 12 remaining challengers stepped onto the beach not knowing what to expect when a Marine Corps amphibious assault vehicle appeared out of the waves and attacked the beach.

As the AAV came to a halt, the back hatch opened and out stepped chef, restaurant owners and co hosts of the show, Gordon Ramsay, Graham Elliot and Joe Bastianich, along with the base commanding officer, Col. Nick Marano.

"Our chow halls serve 778,000 pounds of meat and poultry, along with more than 200,000 pounds of vegetables, to Marines and sailors every month," said Col. Marano.

"So get your game face on," said Ramsay to the contestants. "You have till 1500 (3 p.m.) to prepare one delicious main course, two sides and a dessert and you do not keep these Marines waiting," he demanded.

After separating the 12 cooks into two six-man teams, they made their way to the base’s South Mesa Club to prepare the meal.

Over the next several hours, the contestants hustled to overcome the challenges of preparing a meal for more than 400 people.

"(The competitors) have to remember they're serving Marines - these guys can pack away some food," said Chef Elliot, as he warned the contestants on the shortage of side dishes.

As the clock neared 3 p.m., the contestants scrambled to gather all of their creations and headed back to the beach to serve the members of 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, who were scheduled to deploy in the near future.

“The food is amazing,” said Pfc. Edward Snoddy, amtrack crewman with Headquarters and Service Company, 1st LAR. “It took a lot of time and effort to put this together, and it means a lot to us. I’m going to miss chow like this while we’re deployed.”

The Marines culinary choices were from the blue team’s meal of stuffed pork tenderloin, creamy mashed potatoes, roasted corn cob salad and a patriotic desert and the red team’s barbecue skirt steak, vegetables, potatoes au gratin and an apple pastry.

The competition was close but the blue team took the challenge due to the red team's lack of vegetables.

"We’re proud to be here and we’re proud of the Marines,” said Jake Gandolfo a member of the blue team. “The Marines were so stoked about the food, and their motivation was super high. It was the least we could do and we’re glad they enjoyed it.”

LAR Marines Hunt For Smugglers AFG

Date: 08.14.2010

COMBAT OUTPOST PAYNE, Afghanistan – The long-reaching arm of light armored reconnaissance has choked off the supply of drugs and weapons for Taliban fighters, and Marines here said it won’t be letting up anytime soon.

“Our main mission is to stop any type of trafficking in this area that may help the Taliban’s source of income,” said Lance Cpl Joshua Austin, a light armored vehicle driver with 1st Platoon, Bravo Company, 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion.

The Taliban smuggle weapons from south to north to maintain their most active areas supplied with firepower.

“If we stop their trafficking down here, we’ll be able to help the Marines up north,” said Austin, a Dallas native. “This way we can weaken the Taliban fighters.”

Presently, the Marines have stopped the movement of approximately 16,000 kilos of processed heroin.

Smugglers try to slip by the Marines any chance they get, explained Pfc. Kevin Curnutt, a rifleman with 1st Plt., Co. B., 1st LAR Bn. But, those chances are getting slimmer and slimmer, as these Marines work and live in the open desert for weeks at a time, which as Curnett said, can make for some pretty long days.

“It’s not always an exciting job, but it has to be done,” said Curnutt, a Pomeroy, Wash., native. “It’s not an everyday thing that we find weapons or drugs, so the longer we are out here the more chances we have of finding something.”

Every person searched is questioned and their information is entered into a database to be sure they are not tied to insurgent forces.

Because most Afghans stopped are not linked to the Taliban, the Marines are trying to ease the process for locals, while maintaining a hold on security.

“We ask them for their basic information and where they plan to go,” Curnutt said. Then we give them a ticket in case they encounter any other Marine check points in the area to make the process faster.”

The Marines have seen a great amount of progress in the area and have been able to slow down the Taliban’s source of income, explains Austin.

“Overall, the amount of vehicles have decreased ever since we’ve been interdicting vehicles in this area,” Austin said. “The Taliban know they can’t come through here, because if they do they will be stopped and they will be detained.”

But that doesn’t deter everyone. When smugglers run into the Marines, it is already too late.

“Sometimes they try to run away and we chase them down,” Curnutt said. “They can try to escape, but they won’t get away.”

Though stopping the flow of drugs and weapons occupies most of the Marines’ time here, Curnutt said, the ultimate goal is to assist the Afghan people.

“We’re not only stopping the traffic, we’re also helping the locals to have a safer place to live.”

B1LAR After The Taliban-Durzay AFG

Story by Cpl. Eugenio Montanez 08/16/2010

DURZAY, Afghanistan – Light armored reconnaissance Marines monitored traffic in and out of Durzay, where they found several weapons and improvised explosive device caches.

During the 10 day operation, Marines patrolled in the town, and set up checkpoints to question or search anyone traveling through the area.

“First, we needed to speak to the village elders,” said Lance Cpl. Jeffrey Barcenas, an automatic rifleman with 1st Platoon, Bravo Company, 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion. “The elders know everything that’s going on in their village and no one in the village will talk without their permission.”

The Marines initially gathered information about any insurgent activities that occurred before they arrived.

“We asked them if they’ve seen any Taliban in the area, if there’s anyone emplacing IEDs at night, or if they’ve heard of any safe houses in the area,” said Barcenas, a Dallas, native.

The Marines used the information they gathered from the village elders and locals to patrol suspicious sites around the town. They encountered many fire fights as they got closer to what the Taliban were hiding.

“We pushed our search into the outskirts of Durzai and noticed that we would start getting shot at more and more,” said Cpl. Tristian Corson, a team leader with 1st Plt., Co. B, 1st LAR Bn.

The Marines found weapons caches containing AK-47s, 50 caliber rounds, and IED making material.

“We found most of the caches in the haystacks and in small houses near the town,” said Corson, a Ramona, Calif., native. “We assumed they were in a hurry to leave and stashed their equipment carelessly.”

Once the Marines cleared the outskirts of the town, they moved toward the locations they had received contact from, to force the Taliban out further.

“We kept pushing closer toward them every day and they would push back farther,” Barcenas said. “Once they couldn’t hide anymore, we put suppressive fire on them and everything we trained for just clicked together.

For now, the Marines were able to scare off the Taliban and help the local villagers. But, they will need to stay in the area with Afghan security forces a little longer for progress to continue.

“We wanted to clear out the insurgent activity in the area so the people here can live and go about their business in a peaceful and safe manner,” Corson said. “Doing this has helped build a good rapport with the locals.”

Obama Throws Down on America-Build The Mosque

POTUS, for 2 years, 5 months, and 6 days from now, (NO WAY HE IS GETTING REELECTED) Obama sided with the Muslims insisting on building the Ground Zero Mosque. Not a big surprise there. Despite front office flack parroting the White House party line-- the Mosque Insult is just a local issue and not presidential worthy-the big kahuna himself decided to chin in during the Muslim break-fast/dinner at the White House. How could it be otherwise from Our Political Class Ruler. Since his election, Mr. Obama has consistently demonstrated that not only is he incapable of recognizing an affront to American interests he also does NOT know the difference between rain and piss on your back. Let me be clear, Mr. Obama says, tolerance for the mosque and Islam is a American good and then proceeded to throw Tom Jefferson, the Constitution, the Pledge of Alligence and the Golden Rule into the latest con job soup for bitter clingers since -Dubya's ISLAM IS A RELIGION OF PEACE. Remember that one? Piss on my back and call it rain. Part One. I can't believe I got sucked into that one! Tolerance!

Not a word about tolerance from the Islam High Command for women, gays and death to all converts to Christianity and churches in Muslim countries. How about a trade off, Oh Most High Ones, a Cathedral in Mecca for a mosque in New York. Oh hell, why confuse the issue with facts.

Ground Zero: 72 Human Remains Found June 2010

You may have missed this, I did not find this until today, 9/11 bodies are still being discovered two blocks away from the proposed bridge to understanding-the Ground Zero Mosque. So, even now, we are still digging up bodies, identifying them and giving them a decent burial 8 years ll months and one day since that god awful morning celebrated throughout the middle east.

The Mayor left out this delicate point from his recent tirade on American's protests against building the Mosque. Not that he did not know about it-- he had the remains report on his desk June of 2010: "In late June 2010, at the time of the aforementioned news report, Mayor Bloomberg was informed of the bracing news that “1,845 potential human remains” had been recovered thanks to this intensified search."
NRO Andy McCarthy

"June of 2010, 72 human remains were announced found, following a 2 month-long sifting of 800 cubic yards of debris from Ground Zero and underneath adjacent roads. Some of the remains were found when new debris was uncovered during construction work at the WTC site. Although a
CBSNEWS article stated that "some have been matched to previously unidentified Sept. 11 victims," it did not provide further details.

VN MIA Remains Returned

The DOD announced today that the remains of two Army pilots MIA since 1971 have been identified and returned to their families for burial with full military honors:

U.S. Army 1st Lt. Paul G. Magers of Sidney, Neb., will be buried on Aug. 27 in Laurel, Mont., and Army Chief Warrant Officer Donald L. Wann of Shawnee, Okla., will be buried on Aug. 21 in Fort Gibson, Okla.

On June 1, 1971, both men were flying aboard an AH-1 Cobra gunship in support of an emergency extraction of an Army ranger team in Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam. After the rangers were extracted, helicopters were ordered to destroy claymore mines which had been left behind in the landing zone. During this mission their helicopter was hit by ground fire, crashed and exploded. Pilots who witnessed the explosions concluded that no one could have survived the crash and explosions. Enemy activity in the area precluded a ground search.

In 1990, analysts from DPMO, the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command (JPAC) and their predecessor organizations interviewed both American and Vietnamese witnesses and produced leads for field investigations. In 1993 and 1998, two U.S.-Socialist Republic of Vietnam teams, led by JPAC, surveyed the suspected crash site and found artifacts and debris consistent with a Cobra gunship. In mid-1999, another joint team excavated the site, but it stopped for safety reasons when the weather deteriorated. No remains were recovered, but the team did find wreckage associated with the specific crash they were investigating.

The Vietnamese government subsequently declared the region within Quang Tri Province where the aircraft crashed as off-limits to U.S. personnel, citing national security concerns. As part of an agreement with JPAC, a Vietnamese team unilaterally excavated the site and recovered human remains and other artifacts in 2008. The Vietnamese returned to the site in 2009, expanded the excavation area and discovered more remains and additional evidence.

Forensic analysis, circumstantial evidence and the mitochondrial DNA match to the Magers and Wann families by the Armed Forces DNA Identification Laboratory confirmed the identification of the remains.

Elena Kagan - First No Experience Female- Supreme Court Justice Confirmed

Now I know you all want to know just how we wound up with a Harvard, no-experience at being a judge, for Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States.

Kagan is the end product of the Obama Ruling Elite, the puppet masters, the ruling elite to whom merit is irrelevant and comity, among it's own aka "the best and brightest while the rest of Americans are retrograde, racist, and dysfunctional unless properly constrained." is the prize.

Born April 28, 1960 makes the AJ 50 years, 3 months, 11 days old and you can expect her to live 25 years or more. It is going to be one hell of a bumpy ride. While you are waiting for the court's first decision, you might want to take a gander at our puppet masters game plan for America: Angelo M. Codevillia's
America's Ruling Class and the Perils of Revolution.

It's just all kinds of bad. Remember in November.

Three LAR Barracks Bash

byline PFC Sarah Anderson

The Marines of the 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion stood in formation on the LAV ramp waiting to be released for the day as Battalion Sergeant Major John Elliott, gave them a final brief when cars and vans pulled in honking horns and playing music.

The Marines were surprised with a Barracks Bash that included games, prizes, squirt guns, beach balls and 300 pizzas.

“They had no idea we were coming,” said Lora Cowan, the SMP assistant manager.

“They needed one, they are deploying soon.”

The Marines wanted the bash badly and volunteered their services to increase their chances of being chosen. “We had [privates first class] and privates come down to the Single Marine Program to volunteer to improve their chances of getting chosen,” Cowan said.

The Marines were surprised at the event and enjoyed themselves immensely. “It was really fun, and we needed this,” said Lance Cpl. Kody Simmons, a Light Armored Vehicle mechanic with Headquarters and Service Company, 3rd LAR. “I had a blast.”

LAR War Pigs To Get M27 IAR

One lucky Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion will saddle up this fall with the experimental M-27 Infantry Assault Rifles in time for training and deployment to AFGN. The CMC has a maybe-lets see option on 4,100 M-27's to replace the granny SAW.

But first the CMC wants to make sure M-27 works as well in your grubby mitts as it did for the guys in the lab.

A major twist in your nickers: will a 30 round magazine rifle put the killer suppression fire down range that the M-240 SAW can with 200 round belt?

Humm Note:

In the heat of AFG, the empty weight of M-27 is 7.9 pounds. An unloaded SAW clocks in at 17 lbs and 22 lbs when it's set for fry.

9-11 Hard Hat Will Refuse To Work on NY Mosque

Rush Limbaugh Show:Caller-"I myself am a 9/11 hard hat and we have been fighting this thing tooth and nail since it started, and it seems all our elected officials have abandoned us and let us down. So now it's basically down to us blue-collar workers coming together pledging not to do any work on that site. So that's what I'm reduced to, Rush.

RUSH: Somebody called yesterday and made mention of this possibility, that the people who are going to build it might just refuse to.

CALLER: Well, you see, I'm not putting any faith in the union leadership. As you know, they can be easily swayed. So what I'm doing is I'm a construction super in New York. I'm going around to all of the big construction sites because I do all the big work in New York City and I've been going up to the guys, I've been talking to them, and Rush, it's unanimous. These guys will rather sit home than lift a hammer or a nail that contributes to constructing this insult, this dagger in the heart of the 3,000 families that are suffering and have to relive the suffering if this thing actually goes through."

Mad Dog Mattis To Central Command

The U.S. Senate has voted to confirm General James N. Mattis as head of US Central Command to replace Gen. David Petraeus. Congrats.

Favorite Quotes: "Every time you wave at an Iraqi civilian, Al Qaeda rolls over in its grave."

And the one that got the Elite nicker's all in a twist:

"You go into Afghanistan, you got guys who slap women around for five years because they didn't wear a veil. You know, guys like that ain't got no manhood left anyway. So it's a hell of a lot of fun to shoot them. Actually, it's a lot of fun to fight. You know, it's a hell of a hoot. It's fun to shoot some people. I'll be right upfront with you, I like brawling."

Former Gunny Nick Popaditch Is Running for Congress

Gunny Popaditch, retired, is famously remembered as the "Cigar Marine" filmed as the statue of Saddam was pulled down in Baghdad. I'm sure you have seen him on the National Geographic series on Iraq. In 2004, he was wounded a by an RPG that nicked his helmet during the battle of Fallujah. Popaditch now wants to represent California’s 51st Congressional District. He’s challenging Incumbent Democrat Bob Filner, to represent the California district that runs along the Mexico border. Filner has been in office since 2003.

NO. MOSQUE. AT. GROUND. ZERO.NEVER.

"There can never be "an understanding" with an ideology that despises democracy. There can never be "an understanding" with the type of suicide bombers who crashed passenger planes into New York, Washington and Pennsylvania. There must never be "an understanding" with those despots who, many perceive, have current-day ambitions resurrected from centuries past to achieve a new era of Islamic conquests.

First LAR-COP Castle

Photos/Story by Cpl. Eugenio Montanez COMBAT OUTPOST CASTLE, Afghanistan – With the help from Marines of 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, Afghans are improving their living conditions.

Marines with 3rd Civil Affairs Group attached to 1st LAR Bn. arrived here three months ago and wasted no time getting to work.

One of the first projects is a health clinic to provide the villagers with better medical treatment. The old clinic was little more than a room with scant medical supplies and no services for women.

“We want to be able to provide these people with the medical supplies they need,” said Lance Cpl. Jose Campos, a civil affairs Marine with 3rd CAG, 1st LAR Bn. “To receive treatment is one of the biggest worries of the villagers. With this facility they won’t have to worry about that anymore.”

The clinic is a big step for the local villagers, but is not the only problem the civil affairs’ Marines are working on.

“The children around here love going to school,” said Lance Cpl. Oscar Roman, a civil affairs Marine with 3rd CAG, 1st LAR Bn. “They always ask me for pens, pencils and paper. They’d rather have school supplies instead of candy.”

The current facility is too small for all children to attend and is only open four hours a day. With the new classroom more children will be able to attend class.

There will be many discussions as locals plan for the future of their children and the security of their area. The Marine's plans include a Shura Hall for the farmers to resolve questions and a new district center for village meetings with the district governor and mayor.
